Introducing the 2016 Livability Awards
Honoring the people and projects of the region that contribute to raising the quality of life for
our residents now and in the future.
The Livability Vision in Leadership Award
The Partnership for a Livable Roanoke Valley recognizes this individual for his or her leadership in
making our community a better place to live. This individual will have had significant impact in one
of our four key goal areas of Workforce Development, Economic Development, Health and Wellness
and Natural Assets.
The Livability in Action Project Award
The Partnership for a Livable Roanoke Valley honors this community project by a non-profit,
community or government organization that has advanced the principles of livability to promote
economic opportunity and a greater quality of life for all residents.
Entries may come from any individual or organization within the Partnership for a Livable
Roanoke Valley area including the counties of Alleghany, Botetourt, Craig, Franklin and
Roanoke as well as the cities of Covington, Roanoke and Salem and towns of Clifton Forge,
Vinton and Rocky Mount.
Nominations must be submitted by September 15, 2016 to Lisa Garst,
