Grant Resources

Empowering Communities Through Grants

The Roanoke Valley-Alleghany Regional Commission plays a crucial role in fostering community development and progress by serving as a vital communication link between local governments, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders within the region. Our primary function is to keep these entities informed about a wide array of grant opportunities and valuable resources. These grants and resources originate from a diverse mix of sources, including local, state, and federal government agencies and private foundations. The scope of these grants is broad and multifaceted, aimed at addressing an array of local needs and priorities. Key areas of focus include the deployment of broadband to enhance digital connectivity, workforce development programs to boost local employment and skills training, and significant infrastructure improvements essential for our communities’ growth and sustainability.

Grant Resources Network

RVARC partners with GrantStation to offer nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies the opportunity to identify potential funding sources for their programs or projects and resources to mentor these organizations through the grant-seeking process. GrantStation provides access to a searchable database of private grantmakers that accept inquiries and proposals from a variety of organizations, federal deadlines, links to state funding agencies, and a growing database of international grantmakers. The Regional Commission also participates in GrantStation’s Co-Brand Partner Program to deliver the GrantStation Insider, an e-newsletter that provides information on grant opportunities, grant deadlines, conferences and seminars, and industry news.
